Doctors & Clinics Staten Island
My desire to follow a career in medicine stemmed from my grandmother's influence, a World War II Army Nurse who helped liberate prisoners from the Concentration camps. I admired her compassion and dedication and wanted to follow in her path, not just helping people but in truly making a difference.I approach every patient how I would want my family members treated. I care first and foremost about what is important to the patient and their family in conjunction with what is optimal for the patient, keeping safety at the forefront. I focus on providing the most innovative, and compassionate patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary team approach to deliver the highest quality care to our patients and their families. Collaboration and communication among team members is key and I strive to provide this at the highest level to provide excellent care.I am in my 14th year of practice in general pediatric surgery, focusing on minimally invasive surgery in neonates and children of all ages, with expertise in pediatric colorectal surgery, adolescent breast and ovarian disease, and trauma.I enjoy teaching and mentoring and teaching ACPs, medical students, residents, and fellows.Following in my grandmother's strong footsteps led me to seeking medical volunteer opportunities and I have been fortunate to serve with multiple medical organizations going to many different countries on medical mission trips to help others who otherwise have no resources for nearly 20 years.
